T2M are currently representing an award-winning managed service provider of IT, based in Birmingham to recruit a 1st Line Support Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity suited to a hungry individual with the desire to progress and develop alongside a forward thinking and rapidly growing innovative IT provider.

Key Duties of a 1st Line Technical Support Engineer

  • To act as the first point of contact for all IT support queries.
  • Maintain a strong customer focus at all times.
  • Fault find, troubleshoot, and solve both software and hardware IT issues.
  • Escalate calls to 2nd Line Team as necessary.
  • To update the ticketing system, ensuring the call has been logged and all notes, progress and required actions have been input promptly and accurately.
  • To continuously improve knowledge and understanding across the various software and hardware technologies supported.

Skills and experience required for a successful 1st Line Technical Support Engineer

  • Confident communicator, with great customer service skills.
  • A background or qualification in IT.
  • Highly computer literate.
  • Experience of working within a busy service desk / customer facing environment.
  • Troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge or experience of Windows OS, Active directory, Microsoft Exchange/365, RDS environment principles, Use of remote-control tools, Anti-Virus Basics, Print Setup desirable.

This role will involve working from the office based in Birmingham and requires a full driving license to attend customer premises from time to time to perform on site work. There is a salary of up to £25,000 depending on experience.
