Salary – £25K to £27K dependant on experience

Location: Redditch

Our client is a successful manufacturing business with operations throughout the UK. They are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their team! This is a great opportunity for an aspiring Accountant to gain excellent experience with a successful and well-established business, and to study for accounting qualifications at the same time!

As Assistant Accountant key activities will include:

  • Prepare, produce, analyse, and report on accounts up to Trial Balance for relevant group companies, including transaction processing work where required
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and monthly analysis of allocated accounts
  • Administration and analysis of petty cash, cash advances, foreign currency, pre-paid and company credit cards
  • KPI reporting
  • Prepare VAT, sales listings and intrastat returns for relevant group companies
  • Support the Management Accountant and Group Financial Controller with management reporting, inter-company transactions, reconciliations and year-end accounts
  • Prepare reporting of National Statistics requirements
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects and financial analysis as required

To be successful as Assistant Accountant, you will have the following skills & attributes:

  • Previous experience in a Finance role
  • Committed to passing or currently studying relevant professional qualifications (AAT and subsequently CIMA or equivalent) for which support will be provided
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, be a logical thinker with good problem-solving abilities
  • IT literate with systems experience and good excel skills
  • A flexible and honest individual who can work well as part of a team
