Commercial Pricing Analyst

This is an exciting time for a qualified accountant to join one of the UK’s leading services providers as a Commercial Pricing Analyst to provide accurate and competitive cost estimates for both new and existing business. The core remit is to focus on the development of contract specific bids and tenders for cleaning, security and other facilities management including costing of solutions to deliver competitive and profitable contracts proposals including labour, machinery, technology and materials.

You will work closely with Business Development, Operations, Bid Support, Finance and Commercial colleagues, so you need to be confident and outgoing as well as brilliant at your job!

What will you be doing in your role of Commercial Pricing Analyst?
  • Produce commercially sound and competitively priced solutions in support of new bid and renewal contracts that will meet client requirements from an operational perspective.
  • Undertake site visits and surveys as appropriate to understand the client needs and then build site/contract specific solutions and schedules.
  • Review, understand and measure building plans to support completion of full cost estimates.
  • Use external/internal benchmarking data to support estimating process.
  • Develop and maintain internal benchmarking data.
  • Provide business insights in support of resource build/solution such as shift patterns/schedules for bid requirements as appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with other commercial Pricing staff to support the integration of the business model into the client model.
  • Work collaboratively with Heads of Service to identify innovative/alternative service solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with other service stream leads/estimators to identify opportunities for multi-skilling of roles to drive efficiency.
  • Develop plans/schedules and cost information to support mobilisation and transition process.
  • Support contract improvement process and retention through re-engineering and effective challenge to existing and suggested solutions across the supply chain.
  • Maintain market and service knowledge and its application to our solutions through networking, industry affiliations and competitor awareness.
To be successful in this role we require the following qualifications, experience and attributes:
  • Demonstrable evidence of successful support to winning bids and contract retention.
  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/GCMA).
  • Awareness and understanding of cleaning/security and general FM market across different sectors.
  • Able to quickly understand different working models (e.g. shift patterns) and implications.
  • Awareness and understanding of environment factors and their impact on solution build – footfall/density/traffic/use/fabric/condition etc.
  • Thrive as a problem solver / solution finder.
  • Able to present high quality data and reports to pressing deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Excellent MS Excel skills and general high level of IT literacy across MS Word, MS PowerPoint etc.

This role will largely be ‘remote’ but will require UK travel to attend meeting, fact find and understand the environments of the contracts you will be working on.
