An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Director to join the UK division of an international group at a time of investment in new product innovation and growth. The UK company sell, install and maintain capital equipment and has annual sales of >£10m.

Reporting to the Managing Director and working as part of a close-knit senior leadership team you will have responsibility for all aspects of financial reporting, control, budgeting / forecasting, planning and driving process improvements and initiatives to ‘add value’.

What will you be doing?

As Finance Director leading and developing a small team, key responsibilities will include: 

  • Responsibility for all ‘day to day’ accounting activities including financial reporting, transaction management, cashflow management, inventory / stock accounting etc.
  • Monthly P&L and analysis reporting at local and group level.
  • Statutory reporting and returns.
  • Pricing, margin and product profitability analysis.
  • Annual accounting and audit relationship management.
  • Reviewing and improving current processes and controls.
  • Preparing the UK business for the implementation of a new ERP system roll-out.
What are we looking for?

To be successful as a Finance Director, we seek a candidate with the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • A fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACMA / ACCA).
  • Prior experience of working at FD or Financial Controller level, ideally at divisional level of an international group.
  • Highly driven and keen to make a difference, leading the finance team in process improvement and commercial business decision support.
  • A proven ‘business partnership’ approach – working as part of the leadership team.
  • Great organization and planning skills – meeting deadlines with accuracy and finding time to do the extra stuff that raises the profile of finance!
  • Prior experience of implementing a new ERP system would be an advantage.
  • An enthusiastic and ‘can do’ approach.
