Procurement Lead

T2M are currently recruiting for a Procurement Lead on behalf of a growing engineering business in Worcestershire. As Procurement Lead, this role will be responsible for ensuring direct and indirect materials purchasing is delivered on time, meeting company requirements and to budget.

Procurement Lead
(Worcestershire)

The Procurement Lead will provide support across the supply chain department with sourcing of project commodities ranging electronics, electrical devices and wiring looms, raw materials and injection moulded plastics.

We are seeking someone who is experienced in engineering purchasing and procurement in production, manufacturing or project environments.

Duties of a Procurement Lead:
  • Sourcing direct and indirect suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials, commodities and services form around the globe.
  • Negotiating on volume pricing and terms.
  • Sourcing bespoke and project commodities based on engineering requirements/specifications.
  • Managing import of materials and products from outside the EU.
  • Ensuring product compliance relating to CE regulations.
  • Performing continuous improvement activities within supply chain function.
  • Updating QMS and ERP systems.
  • Supporting finance function in purchase orders and supplier invoicing.
  • Tracking credit and debit notes.
  • Working with the Supply Chain Manager to support all purchasing functions.
Skills, experience, and qualifications to be successful as Procurement Lead:
  • Previous roles in procurement or supply chain, as part of an engineering environment.
  • CIPS/MCIPS or supply chain qualifications are an advantage.
  • Familiar with ERP, QMS and finance systems.
  • Understanding on engineering requirements/drawings/able to read a BOM.
  • Capable of evaluating of new and existing suppliers to achieve best value and quality of materials, goods and services.
  • Strong negotiation skills, driven to achieving best value.
  • Accounting and finance knowledge for invoicing and purchasing requirements.
  • Able to build long term relationships with suppliers.
  • Proficient in MS Office and strong Excel skills.

This role is based in Worcestershire and requires someone who can drive to both the office/production location as well as to visit suppliers/partners, a UK driving license is essential.

Commutable from locations such as: Worcester, Malvern, Hereford, Leominster, Evesham, Droitwich, Bromsgrove, Cheltenham, Ledbury, Gloucester, Ross-on-Wye, and Tewkesbury.
