Back to FormNetwork Implementations Engineer
West Midlands
T2M are currently working with an award-winning managed service provider who, off the back of continued growth and new contract wins, are now looking to add a Network Implementations Engineer to their technical team, reporting directly into the CTO.
A long-established provider of managed IT across both public and private sectors with decades of experience and a reputation for reliability, the business helps clients work smarter and safer by supporting IT services, deploying cloud infrastructure, and managing security, comms and much more.
- Up to £55k + car.
- Permanent, Hybrid, West Midlands with travel to customer sites across the UK.
This Network Implementations Engineer role is a project role, not a support desk one. Pre-Sales and the PMO hand over an approved design and you take it from there, configuring, migrating, testing, documenting and handing it over clean to the Service Desk. One week it could be a new site deployment or office move, the next a firewall migration with a rulebase that hasn’t been tidied in years, and the week after a multi-site customer moving off legacy MPLS onto SD-WAN.
To be successful as Network Implementations Engineer, you will have the following skills and experience:
You’ll be a hands-on network engineer with experience implementing in live customer environments, ideally from an MSP or multi-customer background. You’ll have a strong grasp of TCP/IP and subnetting, and be confident across switching, routing, wireless and firewalls, configuring VLANs, trunks, L2/L3, NAT, ACLs and site-to-site and remote access VPNs.
They’re not expecting you to be an expert in every vendor, but you’ll have solid commercial experience across a mix of HPE/Aruba, Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, WatchGuard, Fortinet and Ubiquiti. Experience with UK business connectivity like leased lines, FTTP, SoGEA and 4G/5G failover would be useful, and any exposure to Azure networking, 802.1X/RADIUS, SASE or certs like CCNA/CCNP would be a big plus.
Just as important, you’ll be someone who plans properly, spots risk before it becomes a problem and is happy to challenge a design that doesn’t stack up. You’ll be confident in front of customers, technical or not, comfortable with the occasional out-of-hours change window, and you’ll need a full UK driving licence for site visits.
Why you’ll love it there:
A solid team can make or break delivery. If you are looking to find a team that will push you to grow and have your back when things get tough, this role is going to tick all your boxes.
They’ve more than doubled their seat count in the last 6 months, with enterprise contract wins and a track record in delivery across midmarket and enterprise. Things are moving quickly, as will the responsibilities, promotional and personal development opportunities.
You’ll be working across a broad multi-vendor estate covering LAN, WAN, wireless and network security, with an environment that focuses on technical delivery, pace and family life. Socially the team plays football, sim racing, some keen runners and a passion for motorsports.
