T2M were delighted to be engaged to recruit a Head of People for the group at an exciting time when the business is investing further in its growth both in the UK and USA.
In 1966 the late Alan Nuttall launched his shop fitting business with an initial £137 investment! Today The Alan Nuttall Partnership is a highly successful employee-owned company comprising two brands; industry leaders ‘Flexeserve’ in hot-holding and food-to-go solutions and ‘Nuttall’ in interior fit-out solutions, main contracting delivering projects end to end.
T2M were delighted to be engaged to recruit a Head of People for the group at an exciting time when the business is investing further in its growth both in the UK and USA. The brief was to recruit an influential HR leader who could develop a People function that was forward-thinking, proactive, and integral to the ongoing success of the company. We needed a candidate who could provide a first-class service to the leadership team and the companies employees. Visiting the UK sites as part of the briefing process gave us great insight into the business and culture!
Our approach was to conduct an extensive search and advertising campaign to attract candidates who were experienced at leading a HR team supporting a multi-site manufacturing business. The candidates would need to have a ‘can-do’ approach, demonstrate expertise in ensuring ‘best practice’, have the ability to balance operational and strategic demands, as well as being an inspirational and approachable leader.
Whilst our advertising campaign attracted high levels of interest from well-qualified HR professionals, our combined targeted search and networking approach generated a long list of 12 exceptional candidates who were excited to be engaged in the selection process.
Our thorough screening process, complemented by McQuaig personality assessments, resulted in a recommended shortlist of five candidates for the The Alan Nuttall Partnership board to meet, which we presented in person. Candidates met the CEO’s of both Nuttall & Flexeserve and the Finance Director of The Alan Nuttall Partnership Ltd, visiting both UK sites to ensure that they fully understood the role that they would be undertaking.
The final stage interview involved a presentation from the two preferred candidates, resulting in a closely contended competition before a preferred candidate was selected. T2M worked closely with the client to ensure that the offer presented was both attractive and aligned to the market with an immediate acceptance from the candidate.
This was a great campaign working in close partnership with the board at The Alan Nuttall Partnership and all candidates involved in the process felt engaged and valued at every step of the process.
