Earth Day 2024: What is it and how to get involved?

April 22nd marks Earth Day! Earth Day has been celebrated since 1970, originally established in the US, and since then millions of people across the world come together to celebrate.

Earth Day provides people with a great opportunity to raise awareness about the environment, putting our planet first, and promotes thinking with an eco-conscious mindset.

Jobs for the Planet

Why not take some inspiration from us at T2M Resourcing?

At T2M Resourcing, we do our best to be a sustainable supplier for our clients, so we have a number of schemes in place to improve our impact on the environment.

Becoming a sustainable supplier with our Jobs for the Planet scheme

We have partnered with The Future Forest Company to form our Jobs for the Planet scheme where we plant trees for each candidate we place, supporting UK reforestation projects.

In the last 18 months we have planted over 265 trees in forests across Northern England and Scotland.

The Future Forest Company are on a mission to plant enough trees to remove one million tonnes of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere by 2030, and T2M are excited to be supporting this movement.

Whether you’re a client or candidate, by working with us you are helping to support reforestation projects across the UK.

Sustainable partners

Partnering with sustainable suppliers

For our interim recruitment, we also work with the climate-positive timesheet company Save Trees, who eliminate the need for paper timesheets. For every Recruitment Agency they work with, they plant at least one new tree every single month!

We are so happy to be working with sustainable suppliers that support our goal to invest in our planet.

Investing in our Planet

Running our day-to-day operations sustainably

At T2M, we aim to minimise our carbon footprint by using low-energy technology, we recycle wherever possible, and we also work from out-of-city offices and offer a hybrid working scheme to reduce commuting time and emissions!

We have a cycle-to-work scheme which many of our employees enjoy using, including our Managing Director (when he’s not out and about meeting clients!), and when we do have those important client meetings, we mainly travel using electric vehicles.
