T2M are currently working alongside one of the UKs market leading renewable energy system specialists, who design, supply, install and maintain renewable energy systems throughout the UK, to recruit an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their Design Team.
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will work alongside other Technical Designers and the Design Manager to deliver detailed technical drawings and designs for all of the systems that the company installs.
As Electrical Design Engineer, key responsibilities and duties will include:
- Work alongside Project Managers and Sales Consultants to deliver cost-effective and detailed technical designs to meet job specifications.
- Conduce field and site surveys prior to commencing design work.
- Design and produce schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Be responsible for performing calculations and cable selection.
- To Progress designs to projects and installation teams and provide technical support throughout the project lifetime.
- Develop reusable design patterns to improve efficiencies.
- Stay up to date with relevant technologies in order to provide advice to the company on technology choices.
As Electrical Design Engineer, the following skills and experience are desired:
- A strong knowledge of CAD tools – AutoCAD and Revit.
- A good understanding of electrical components.
- Experience in preparation of single line, protection & metering diagrams, cable scheduling and installation detail drawings.
- Previous knowledge of heat pumps and PV systems or experience within the renewable energy industry desirable.
- Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail and quality.
- Someone interested in Renewable Energy systems with a desire to learn and understand their related technologies and systems.
As a Design Engineer you will be based from the companies office in Horley working with the flexibility to travel to job sites as and when required to complete surveys.
There is a salary of up to £45,000 depending on experience, alongside a number of company benefits which include the possibility of company funding for Chartered Engineering Program.
